"It was a wonderful experience, as the days went on people became more and more open to each other.

It felt like travelling, we were all away from our homes, and growing as we emerged into our true selves. I felt I was so much more “me” by the end.

I was happy to emerge from a strange and difficult time of my life, starting with several years of serious illness, which led to a transplant three years ago.

Since that I have been growing stronger, and I came across the Way of the Buzzard at a perfect time. My “upstairs department” (guides) and I will work now on integrating all this and working on staying in this wonderful present.

Working with such raw materials and not being particularly crafty was, I thought, going to be a daunting experience.. Instead I found comradeship with my fellow birthers and gentle encouragement from you both at every step.

It was all that I hoped it would be, an experience to treasure and an honour to preserve the red deer I chose.

My drum became it's own being as the days rumbled on in the drying week. Patterns and colours emerging every day when I went to turn her. And then came the first play. My beater softly beat the skin and the tone made my heart swell with pride.

"Just to thank you again for a terrific day creating my drum yesterday.

I was tired at the end of the day, but it was packed with information and practical tasks and I loved every minute of it.

My drum is now in my shed and I have just turned it. It is already getting tight and the colours that are emerging are absolutely beautiful. It was difficult imagining how it would look yesterday when it was wet, but it has beautiful darker tones coming out that I think will get better every day that it dries.

"I joined the Born Free programme as I wanted to increase my experience of  working shamanically.

I think I already had the basics but it was nice to realise that as I progressed through the course I could deepen my understanding of practice.

I like your integrity and presentation style, and the video delivery format was really useful. I have come to realise that I do have a connection to nature and spirit and it has increased my confidence to be myself.

I am open to 'signs' (more aware)  and look upon trees with reverence and have passed some knowledge onto my wife and our daughter where they both tried out ‘tree energy’ practice at space to emerge.

I have found the Born Free programme to be effective at developing a way of living authentically by exploring  body and spirit  that improves and challenges us as people so  that we can be more than just ‘consumers’.

"Starting the course made me realise that my life was so full of things (work!) that I didn't really have the time to do what I need to do to nourish my soul.

Throw some other 'life events' on top of this and it became impossible to engage. This realisation was pivotal to me and I called upon my go-to horse energy to carry me out of the situation and towards my real life's purpose as revealed to me early in the work.

"Before I found The Way of the Buzzard I had a lot of fear and was a very lost person.

I was very confused about my life and all of the world. I really struggled with communication and wen I looked to find words to express my needs, only tears came.

I was drawn to the Born Free course because I felt 'inside me’ that it would be beneficial for me in my life right now. Being a part of the programme has helped me in so many ways.

I now accept myself and love myself more. I have opened to my feminine side, am more connected to Mother Earth, and I love my connection I have developed with my tree.

One of the greatest benefits is that my family life has improved a lot, and I have a better connection with people.

Born Free is a really useful course for people who would like to learn and deepen their experience with shamanism but have a busy life.”

I came to Born Free with some experience, however, the teachings of Nicola and Jason still held so much more for me to learn.

Those new to the path, whether you wish to step onto it fully or just dip a toe in to see how it feels, will find so many wonderful lessons to help get them started.

Born Free covers a lot of things that other courses neglect, such as how this path interweaves with our physical wellbeing and our place in the world. This all facilitates our spiritual growth as much as learning about the different spirit realms and animal guides which are also covered in detail.

"I have been drawn to shamanic practise in one way or another since my 20s but never taken the time to fully embrace it.

At a point in my life where I was transitioning ( into crone!) I was very much in need of self work and support of some kind. What appeared for me from the Universe like  a gentle rain shower while the sun is shining, was Nicola and Jason’s Born Free on line shamanic course.

"I bought a drum from you about a year ago. It's a 16" deer skin with a crimson tension ring and a black tourmaline in the handle.

I just want to tell you how wonderful this drum is. When I first received her I journeyed to meet all who had participated in the making. What a web of connections!

Far beyond you, or the animals involved, to those who mined the metal and the tourmaline, fed the animals, cared for the trees. A lesson in the web of connections. In the journey she told me to call her Echo Moon Stalker.

I have used her for journeying both alone and in my local shamanic circle and her voice is strong and beautiful. I never knew I could love a drum so much. I hope she will be with me until I die, and then be passed to the next person honoured to be her friend.

"I'm doing well with the journeying and have also started counselling sessions to help me deal with the grief on a day to day level. They are going really well thanks to the Shamanic healing which I feel has opened up a huge amount for me that probably would have stayed hidden otherwise. I've had so many realisations lately its been quite intense so I'm taking my time.

I've also been clearing my channels so I can listen more, I've noticed so much synchronicity lately its been wonderful. This morning I was driving back from South Lakes as the Sun rose on my left and the Moon set on my right when a group of three crows swooped low over my car in formation then just above me, banked sharply left and flew off again, it was magnificent!

I wanted to thank you for the work you did, I am still blown away by the resources that have opened up for me thanks to your help and coaching, I also wanted to mention that I'm planning on coming back and having more sessions once I've got the emotional stuff a bit more under control, hopefully in a couple of months.
