Maytivation

Drawing on the motivational energies in May to act on your spiritual guidance

Here's your downloadable guide to creating your own Beltane Full Moon Ceremony.

What's Maytivation all about?

The creative energies are at their peak during the month of May, as nature bursts open.

Here at The Way of the Buzzard, we always say that winter isn’t the time to set intentions and move forward on dreams. Winter is a period for gestation. But now, at the height of spring, this is the perfect time to give some real energy to something you want to achieve.

On Friday we have a special lunar-solar alignment. It is the full moon on the same day as Beltane, the festival of creativity and abundance. This is the perfect moment to set your intention for the month ahead.

Then, during the month of May, ride these heightened spring energies to act on your intention.

Choosing your focus for May

Here’s some guidance if you are looking for help deciding what your focus for May will be.

  • If you attended Ignite the Spark here and/or Spring into Life here, you can take your intention from the one you set during these At Home retreats.
  • Another focus could be time out in nature. During our March shamanic journey circle here, Jason shared some fascinating insights into how beneficial time out in nature is for us, even just a few minutes a day. You could set the intention to spend time in nature every day, for example 10 minutes, 20 minutes or 30 minutes.
  • During our April shamanic journey circle here, we journeyed to Warbler on the topic of courage. You could set an intention around the guidance you received in this circle.
  • In our Beltane bonus celebration here, we focused on nature, nurture and nourishment. You could set an intention around the guidance you received.

If you are new to the Mystery School and haven’t attended any of these circles or retreats, we have several ideas for you:

  • Commit to focusing on the Mystery School foundation course or masterclass that draws you most.
  • Commit to watching one of the events listed above and following through on the intention. If you need help in choosing, we would recommend the March shamanic journey circle here, which is about developing a regular practice of time in nature.

For me (Nicola), it’s sitting in nature for 30 minutes every day through May. This is something that I do regularly, but not enough, and I don’t do it every day. But, inspired by the journey circle that Jason led in March, I am committing to doing this every day. This will be my sit spot when I am at home, and anywhere in nature when I am away.

Jason is making the same commitment. He is also going to make a book - a creative project that has been on the back burner for a while now and a passion of his.

The ceremony

Whatever you decide, set your intention on Friday 1st May in a ceremony, on the day of Beltane and the Full Moon.

If you are coming to Space to Emerge, you will be able to carry out your ceremony with us in the Glade in the Opening Ceremony. We will create space for you to do this.

For everyone else, we’ve created a downloadable ceremony guide. You can download it below.

And if for some reason you miss Friday 1st of May, do this as close to that day as you can.

Sharing your intention

Let us know what intention you set in our Facebook group, or email us. You will be entered into our Beltane prize draw giveaway.

During May

Every day as you focus on this, notice what your internal dialogue is. Notice any blocks.

Perhaps commit to just one week. Notice the patterns that emerge. Then another week.

At the new moon on Saturday 16th May, assess how you are getting on. Maybe you’ve managed to keep momentum, maybe not. You will have noticed your blocks, the internal dialogue stopping you.

Then between the new moon and the full moon in May, continue. Give it another go.

Keep checking in with the Facebook group. Let us know how you’re getting on.
