“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everthing better.” Albert Einstein
We are holding this retreat at New Moon on the approach to the Summer Solstice. The sun is at the highest point in the sky, the days are long, and the energies are high. This is a great time to work on our inner resources to support us in our spiritual growth.
Life on the edge can be precarious at times. The Earth path is the path less trodden, moving away from convention, and how we are told to live. Gradually, over time, we start to listen to that quiet voice within and begin to forge a different way of being, away from what is perceived as ‘normal’. This takes courage.
Yet, although life on the edge can be precarious when we look at the edges of nature, such as riverbanks, coastlines and hedgerows, these are rich, fertile places with so much growth and abundance. Life on the edge can be deeply fulfilling as this is where the growth happens.
Our new Summer Solstice online retreat is a day to focus on what a life living on the edge is like. What is it like to be different to ‘normal’? Have you ever felt like you are struggling? Have you ever been fearful about the new path you are drawn to walk?
It can be consuming being on your own with these different thoughts and feelings going on inside. However, remarkable things can happen when you find a safe place, where you are heard and understood and can be with like-minded people.
Find your Tribe
Finding your tribe is like a homecoming, where you can foster a deeper understanding of yourself and where your place in the world can emerge. It is a return to nature, the natural way of being in the world, and a remembering of our connection to the Otherworld, the non-physical reality.
Once the edge is reframed as a place of immense growth and prosperity, amazing things can, well… grow.
Our Summer Solstice online retreat is a day to explore life on the edge and to unleash your inner maverick. We are off to the coast once again, this time to the cliffs where the sea crashes into the earth. Yet, despite this harsh environment, this is a place abundant with life. On this retreat day, we will be tuning into the powerful energies of the Solstice sun to help us stand tall and strong on our soul path.
Together we will work with all four foundation topics we teach in our Mystery School: animal spirit medicine, tree spirit medicine, shamanic journeying and the wheel of the year allowing you to deepen into exploring the tools we use on our spiritual path.
Our day-long summer online retreat
So, if you have liked what you have read so far, come and join us for the day at this next turn in the wheel of the year. This will be an immersive day, helping you draw in the energies of the Summer Solstice, to support you on your spiritual path. If you aren’t able to join us live on Sunday, you can still take part as we will send you the replay link the next morning. The replay will be made up of three 1.5 hour videos that you can watch over a series of days or all in one day, whatever works best for you.
In our Life on the Edge online retreat, we are off to the coastal cliffs, where the shoreline is shaped by the crashing of waves. Despite this being a harsh environment, it is a place teaming with life. Edges are rich and fertile places. So, on this retreat day, we will be tuning into the powerful energies of the Solstice sun to help us stand tall and strong on our soul path as we live on the edge. Together we will work with all four foundation topics we teach in our Mystery School: animal spirit medicine, tree spirit medicine, shamanic journeying and the wheel of the year to strengthen our resilience on our path.
There will be an immersive, meditative video encapsulating the energy of this special time of year as the sun sits at the highest point. We will lead guided activities to connect deeply with nature and the Otherworld and hear the wisdom held there. Together we will explore what life is like as an edge-dweller as you forge a different path and help you strengthen your toolkit supporting you in your spiritual journey.
There will be shamanic journeying, creativity time, reflective time and nature time, and a ceremony to set your intentions going forward.
We will run this event through Zoom. We will record this retreat, so if you cannot make it on the day, you will have the replay by Monday 19th June. You will also have ongoing access to the recording and all the resources alongside this event, including the nature connection videos and the printable workbook, so you can revisit the content whenever you like.
Many of you might have attended our online or in-person events before. When we gather, even for just a few hours, remarkable things can happen. We create space for the messages to come through and an opportunity to draw on the range of spiritual tools available through the shamanic and nature connection toolkit.

Why learn from us?
Between us, Jason and Nicola, we have trodden this path for many decades, finding our way forward to a new way of being in the world.
We have learned how to hear the quiet voices within us and from the Otherworlds, guiding us along the way, and from this we have moved from being in stagnant and unfulfilling work to fully embracing our creativity and discovering the true depths of ourselves and the joy that this can bring us.
Because of this we are excited and passionate about working with others who desire to come back to the earth and carve a new path for both themselves and the wider community.
We are delighted to be able to bring you this special experience as we immerse in the early spring energies, drawing on the age-old practices of Shamanism and nature connection to seek our spiritual guidance.
What others say
Here are some reflections from participants who have attended our online retreats in the past:
I am now able to be more present in my life.
“Finding the right space for self-care and reflection is not always easy. Before the retreat, I was feeling scattered and unable to focus, tired and disconnected. Afterwards I felt so calm and grounded. I noticed that I was less bothered by time and more able to just be present in my life.
I felt very contented. I am already making more time for nature. When I am out and about, I really notice trees and animals and then feel I want to look up their meaning. I am more in tune with my inner world and look more for the messages that are there for me through the things I encounter.”
Gill
I felt held and supported and part of a tribe.
"At first, I wasn’t sure about coming along to an online retreat. It seemed a long day, and I thought I might get restless and tire from looking at a computer screen all day. But I felt the retreat topic was something I needed and I wanted a collective experience, to be with others.
It didn’t disappoint on either count. I felt very cosy and calm. I lay on the settee for a while afterwards, with candles lit in my lounge, feeling peaceful and rewarded. There'd had been such a sense of connection - I felt held and supported and part of a tribe."
Ali
The weekend was magical
"Your online event looked interesting, and I liked the idea of a shamanic approach based on our own traditions, myth and landscape and not one that has been imported from another culture.
I was excited to come along and, at the same time, a little nervous as generally I am used to "going" to events rather than online, and so I was unsure what it would be like.
The weekend was magical, and the space was held well with kindness and care. Despite it being online, it worked and had depth. I am very moved and grateful to have been a part of it."

What will the day involved?
This day-long event is rich with content from the shamanic and nature connection toolkit, and it is an opportunity to work with the powerful Summer Solstice energies.
Activities will include shamanic journeying, nature connection time, ceremony and working with the elements.
This isn’t a workshop tied to the screen. There will be guided activities to carry out throughout the day, including an extended time out in nature, even if that is your balcony or back yard or garden. And there will be nature connection films to transport you into a very different space, bringing the wild into your home.
Here's an outline of our day together
- We will start at 9.30am and finish around 5pm (UK time).
- To settle into the day, we will begin with a grounding meditation and create sacred space by welcoming in the elements.
- Then, we will flex our creativity through a simple morning practice of reading poetry and allowing our collective words to flow through some creative writing and sharing.
- During the morning session, we will focus on what life is like living on the edge and this includes an activity over your coffee break. Then there will be an immersive nature connection video, from which you will choose your animal to work with from Gannet, Puffin, Seagull and Dolphin. We will guide you on a shamanic journey to seek guidance from your chosen animal.
- During the extended lunch break, there will be a nature-based activity running to mid-afternoon. This can be carried out in your garden or local countryside or park. If you aren’t able to leave your home, we have an adaptation for you that you can do indoors.
- When we come back together for the final part of the day, we will focus on ‘intuition’. There will be a second nature connection video, working with the messages of Hazel
- Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to interact with the other participants through our private Facebook group and the chat facility in Zoom
- We use the Webinar facility in Zoom, which means that you will see us in our living room but you will not be able to see the other participants and they will not be able to see you. This means you can recline and get comfy for the day without worrying about how you look on screen.

During the morning part of our gathering, we will focus on reflecting on the past year. There will be a nature connection video created especially for this workshop and an activity to take part in. We will then move our focus on the season ahead and consider what we are going to take into winter to incubate as we go to ground.
After a break for lunch, there will be a nature-based activity for the first part of the afternoon. Then we will work with animal spirit medicine to seek guidance to help us prepare for the winter ahead. There will be a guided shamanic journey shapeshifting into Bear during this session and a second nature connection video on the theme of ‘going to ground’.
To round off the day, we will hold an intention setting ceremony, drawing on tree spirit medicine, specifically the energy of the Yew.

Strengthen your resilience as an edge-dweller by connecting deeply with nature and the Otherworld and hear the wisdom held there.
Spend time with like-minded people in community, getting that retreat experience away but without needing to leave home.
Yes, it will mean investing a little of your time and money and take yourself away from your everyday responsibilities. It may even feel overindulgent and raise a conflict inside you about whether you can justify giving yourself this space and investment.
If you find yourself debating in your mind whether it is right, then try dropping into your body and seeing how it feels. If the idea of coming along feels good, follow that impulse. Our gut feeling rarely lets us down.
Here are some of the words people shared about how they were affected by our previous online retreat:

There are so many benefits to joining us.
Here are our top 5.
A Homecoming
Something happens deep within us when we are in nature. When we still ourselves amongst beauty, we can hear ourselves more clearly. We come home. During this day, we will drop together into nature time and demonstrate it is possible to do this without even leaving home.
Seeking answers from the Otherworlds
The ancient techniques of shamanic journeying and deep nature connection have been used by humanity for tens of thousands of years. They are incredible and easy ways to access deep universal wisdom. Why leave it to your limited conscious mind to come up with all the answers!
Embracing Shamanic Tools
Working with shamanic journeying and deep nature connection, we will access life-changing tools that our ancestors used for guidance and healing.
Being in Community
Share soulful time with like-minded travellers who, like you, are seeking ways to become more expansive in a different world.
Setting Intentions
Without a clear intention, we don't know where we are heading. So, by deciding this and putting it out to the universe in a ceremony at the end of the day, we give ourselves the best chance of dropping into winter with ease and making the most of the dark evenings and more restful time.
