What do we mean by ‘Community care’?
Our lives are enriched when we surround ourselves with like-minded souls who are looking to find a new way of Being on the Earth. By gathering with others on a similar path we no longer feel alone, no longer a stranger in a world which we do not understand.
Together we can find new meaning in our lives, following the Earth path, celebrating the cycles and immersing ourselves in the beauty of nature and all she has to give.
“There is almost a sensual longing for communion with others who have a large vision. The immense fulfillment of the friendship between those engaged in furthering the evolution of consciousness has a quality impossible to describe.” Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
We run workshops, gatherings and celebrations throughout the year to bring together those on the Earth path. Our aim is to help create a space where we can bring about inner and outer alchemy for the healing of ourselves, our communities and our Earth.
We also hold more formal ceremonies including baby namings, wedding blessings and funerals, as well as make guest appearances at events others are running.
We run monthly circles on weekday evenings at five locations in the northwest: Stockport, Wilmslow, Preston, Chorley and Lancaster. Drumming is only a part of what we do during this time together. It’s an opportunity for a few hours each month to come together and just be.
Be exactly who you are, and bring whatever you want to bring to a sacred space. Explore shamanic journeying, enjoy nurture time and deepen your connection with nature. Click here for more information.
We gather eight times through the wheel of the year to celebrate the ancient celtic festivals of Samhain, Winter Solstice Imbolc, Spring Equinox, Beltane, Summer Solstice, Lammas and Autumn Equinox. At these points during the year we gather and create ceremony, basking in the qualities that that time of year brings. Click here for more information.
Our outdoor celebrations are held at sacred sites around the northwest, such as Arbor Low Stone Circle and Alderley Edge. They are held to mark particular points in the solar and lunar cycles, such as the full moon eclipse, and are free to attend by everyone. To receive notification about these events please sign up to our newsletter. Click here for more information.
Bringing meaningful ceremony back into our lives is one of the cornerstones of creating positive change in our world. For many generations we lost this connection, this ability to create our own ceremonies, but we are claiming it back.
We can support you in holding formal ceremonies led from the heart, including baby namings, wedding blessings and funerals, as well as rites of passage such as coming of age, and junctures of major transition in our lives such as divorce, a change in life path or moving into retirement. We are also very happy to come along to any event which others are organising and run a session on shamanism. We love our work to be more than simply a talk about our path and enjoy giving participants a chance to experience journeying to other worlds for themselves. Click through to our blogs to read more about the kinds of short workshops we have held in the past.
We think it’s important that everyone has the opportunity to join in The Way of the Buzzard community, and so some of our events are completely free to attend, or we ask for a contribution in line with what you can afford. Also we love children to attend many of our gatherings, in particular our outdoor celebrations.
However, due to the deep and reflective nature of much of our work it’s not always suitable for children, but where it is, we make this clear and encourage you to bring them along so they can join in and also experience the connections we have with nature and each other.
