A Return to Enchantment

A journey back into relationship with Nature and the Otherworlds

Thursday 13th - Sunday 16th August 2026

"The more deeply we attend, the more the world comes alive."
Dr Iain McGilchrist

Nature call out to us constantly, yet many of us move too quickly to notice.

The rhythm of everyday life wraps itself tightly around us, and somewhere along the way the world begins to lose its depth. Edges that were once rich with meaning grow thin, and the sense of belonging we quietly yearn for feels just out of reach.

When we live at a pace that leaves no room for connection, we miss the gentle guidance that rises from within and the signs that move through the living landscape around us.

Still, the call persists. It comes from the land, from the spirit of place, from the trees and the animals who share our world. It comes from the part of ourselves that remembers how to be in genuine relationship with the Earth and with one another.

Nature is always inviting us back into connection, urging us to recognise the threads that bind the physical and the unseen, the everyday and the Otherworld, into one continuous living tapestry.

Nature is always inviting us back into connection, urging us to recognise the threads that bind the physical and the unseen, the everyday and the Otherworld, into one continuous living tapestry.

In the extraordinary and quietly Otherworldly retreat space of Cae Mabon, high in the foothills of Mount Snowdon, we will gather to let life’s pace ease until the boundaries soften and the world gathers substance again.

This is a place where the seen and unseen stand close together, and when we slow down and pay attention, they meet us with a sense of familiarity that feels both ancient and reassuring.

Our time together will open a space to return to that relationship between ourselves, the land, and the subtle currents that flow beneath ordinary perception. Through time out connecting deeply with nature we’ll create a space for a deeper sense of belonging to grow.

A Four Day Woodland Hideaway

Across our time together, we explore ways of living that support a more grounded, intentional and meaningful relationship with the world around us.

Within a warm and encouraging space, we look closely at:

  • Rebuilding our relationship with nature and the Earth through slow time, curiosity, gratitude and the simple act of paying deeper attention
  • Discovering how nature supports both body and soul, calming our nervous system and giving us clarity on the path ahead.
  • Learning to listen for signs and subtle communications from the other-than-human world, including shapeshifting and seeing through the eyes of woodland creatures.
  • Developing easy, repeatable practices such as sit-spot time and forest bathing that don’t require hours each week.
  • Growing comfortable and confident in natural spaces, opening to the universal language that arises when we slow our pace and meet the land with openness.

Alongside these deep nature connection experiences, there is ample time to rest, wander and settle into the rhythm of the land.

Cae Mabon offers a truly enchanting setting: a woodland with a gushing mountain river, a Celtic roundhouse for gathering, hand-built hobbit houses and woodland cabins tucked beneath the trees, a labyrinth for reflection and, a hot tub where you can bathe beneath the emerald boughs.

It is a place that holds you gently while you make your way back to yourself through connecting deeply with nature.

Nicola & Jason - a little about us

Between us, Jason and Nicola, we have trodden this path for many decades, finding our way forward to a new way of being in the world. We have learned how to hear the quiet voices within us, in nature and the Otherworld, guiding us along the way. From this, we have moved from being in stagnant and unfulfilling work to fully embrace our creativity and discovering the true depths of ourselves and the joy that this can bring us.

Because of this, we are excited and passionate about working with others looking to come back to the Earth and carve a new path for themselves and the wider community.

We are delighted to be able to offer you this unique, extended break in the Snowdonia National Park, in the beautiful Cae Mabon woodland retreat space.

Gratitude from Retreat Attendees:

Here are some reflections from participants who have attended our in-person retreats in the past:

"This was the best weekend ever!"

"Being in community with like-minded souls is so nurturing and empowering, I feel as though I finally belong somewhere. This was the best weekend ever!"

Alison // Retreat Attendee

"I have found what has been missing in my life."

"I was expecting to immerse myself in the landscape.

What I didn't expect was the magic of immersing into the community and an awareness that this is what has been missing in my life. I was able to visualise when journeying for the first time and received a message which was a huge milestone for me."

Sarah // Retreat Attendee

"I really enjoyed being in like-minded company"

"I really enjoyed being in like-minded and supportive company in such a beautiful location.

I have come to realise that we are just a speck on the Earth's timeline and that there is so much wisdom to discover."

Sam // Retreat Attendee

What will the retreat involve?

This is an extended retreat running over four days from Thursday late afternoon to Sunday lunch time.

During this time, you will be immersed in nature in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park in a truly stunning forest location, Cae Mabon, with its hobbit houses, sacred spaces, gushing mountain stream and plenty of trees to bask under.

We have enough beds for everyone in shared dwellings (separate men's and women's) ranging from cob-built houses to wooden cabins, as well as a small number of suitable places for small, two-man sized tents if you would like to camp. Campervans are welcome to park in the car park, which is a 5-minute walk up the hill from the retreat space.

On the Thursday afternoon once you arrive there will be time to settle in. We will enjoy an evening meal together and then settle down by the campfire, introduce ourselves and explain the programme for the weekend.

Over Thursday, Friday and Saturday, we will spend our time between gathering in the Celtic roundhouse and time out in the woodland and alongside the mountain stream.

Each morning we will begin our day with a morning practice session to ease ourselves into the day.

Evenings will be spent relaxing around the campfire together, sharing stories, poems, writings, songs, drumming and good fun.

Throughout our time together you will have plenty of space to enjoy all that Cae Mabon has to offer, with is hideaway places, labyrinth and hot tub.

You will learn or deepen further into ancient shamanic techniques of British Shamanism, including shamanic journeying, ceremony and nature connection.

Your breakfast and evening meals, as well as drinks and snacks are included in the price of the retreat. We ask you just to bring along your lunches along with a cool box to store them in if you need to keep anything cold as we have very limited fridge space. It is fine to bring alcohol to enjoy in the evenings (in moderation).

We will round off our time together with a fire ceremony to close the circle and will be wrapped up and ready to leave by lunch time on Sunday.

A Deeper Connection

There comes a point when many of us feel the need to pause and take a deeper look at the way we move through our days. A longing rises to slow our pace, to notice more, and to reconnect with what brings meaning and steadiness. Stepping into nature time allows this shift to happen gently.

When we give ourselves space, even for a few days, the world around us begins to speak again and our own inner knowing becomes easier to hear.

Joining us at Cae Mabon will allow you a small window in which to breathe, reflect and restore your sense of direction. Committing this time to yourself may feel like a stretch, yet it is often in these brief pauses that clarity returns. The land has a way of helping us remember what matters, and of guiding us back toward choices that feel aligned and supportive.

Humans have always learned through relationship with the natural world. Our ancestors understood the wisdom of the seasons, the guidance carried by the land, and the importance of being in conversation with the other-than-human world. When we return to these ways, even in simple forms, something in us settles and we leave changed.

During this retreat we explore practices that help that relationship grow:

  • Spending time in nature and letting its rhythms slow us down
  • Listening closely to the land and noticing how guidance reveals itself
  • Reconnecting with our own inner nature and the calm that arises from it
  • Finding meaning and clarity through presence, curiosity and attention

If you feel the pull toward this slower, deeper way of being, you are warmly invited to join us in the Snowdonia wildwood and see what unfolds when you give yourself time to listen.

There are so many benefits to joining us.
Here are our top 5.

The Wisdom of the Land

Spending time connecting with nature gives us insights which have a profound impact on our lives. These techniques have been used by humanity for at least 50,000 years. It is an incredible and easy way to access deep universal wisdom. Why leave it to your limited conscious mind to come up with all the answers?

A Homecoming

Something happens deep within us when we are in nature. When we still ourselves amongst the beauty we can hear ourselves more clearly. We can come home.

A Regular Practice

Experience a regular creative practice that will lead you to a more spacious life, a deep connection to your true self, and a real sense of achievement.

An Iconic Location

Cae Mabon is a slice of heaven nestled at the foot of Mount Snowdon which has been lovingly created for just this purpose, to support like-minded travellers to drop into a different space so nature can work her magic on us.

Coming Back To Nature

Our stiffness is softening as we take the winding road back to nature. We follow the gentle contours, noticing more and more the magic around us.

Only three generations ago all we knew were factory chimneys, air thick with smoke, the constant noise of the industrial unmaking of ourselves.

We knew no flower meadows or autumn woodlands, we had never seen a waterfall, or walked barefoot on a beach feeling the sand between our toes. The sound of the ocean was unknown to us, as was the call of the cuckoo announcing spring.

We hadn’t seen a sunset over the snowy mountain top or looked into the pond at our own reflection. Now we have choices and freedom fought for us.

Now it is our time to become nature once again.

Learning in community

We learn so much in community. It can be hard to find that community in a world where people who think and feel completely differently to us surround us every day.

The Way of the Buzzard is a place where we can gather.

Where those people who don’t fit into a world they don’t understand congregate, because they were born to create a different one.

And where better to do this than around the campfire.

In the evenings we will warm our bodies and our hearts next to the soft orange glow of hot embers and flickering flames.

We will share stories, poems, sorrows and joys, and awaken the deep bone memory of what community is really about.

There are limited spaces on this retreat and we expect it will be popular so we advise booking sooner rather than later to avoid being disappointed.

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”

Albert Einstein
