Summer Solstice Celebration – Sunday 14th June 1pm-5pm- preparing the way

At this time of changing balance come and celebrate the season of the high sun with us at Abney Park scout hut in Cheadle.

Together we’ll work with the magic of the summer and explore the connection between light and dark as our hemisphere approaches its slow descent into the quiet seasons of autumn and winter.

Bring along your drums and rattles to enjoy the energy of trance drumming, perhaps outdoors if the weather stays true to the season. Any other musical instruments are welcome too, as we celebrate this centre-point of the year and the stillness of the sun.

We will make time to consider our achievements since winter solstice and our challenges as we sit in circle together, journeying to the sun for warmth, energy and cleansing as we embrace our life on earth.

If it’s dry we’ll light a fire to symbolise the heat of summer and spend time flame-gazing, absorbing the nurturing warmth of our nearest star.

We will make a sacred solstice tool to help carry us through the dark months ahead and call on the sturdy energy of oak to strengthen and support us as we pledge our words to Mother Earth.

Beginning at 1pm with a bring and share lunch we’ll celebrate and journey together until 5pm, enjoying outdoor time in the beautiful surroundings of Abney Park. The post code for the venue is SK8 2PD.

The cost of the celebration is just £20 if booked in advance or £25 on the door. Spaces are limited so early booking is advised. Please pay by clicking the paypal button below. If you’d like to make alternative arrangements to pay please email us and we’ll arrange this.
